Ilja Dubrovins

Breakdance Teacher

More than 15 years of breaking experience involving choreographies, shows, teaching and dance battles.

Jason Anderson

Breakdance Teacher

My name is Jason and I have been dancing for 20+ years.

I was once a shy kid. I discovered a breakdance class when I was 10 years old and since then I have fallen in love. Dance provided me with confidence and helped me overcome my shyness.

Since my journey started in 2006 I have been part of a dance crew and have performed and competed in UK and European dance events.

In my class, I aim to provide the ability to freestyle and dance in choreographed routines. giving students the ability to pursue all opportunities within dance whether it be a competitive route or stage performing and to learn all the skills in breaking from being able to spin on the floor to doing footwork and freezes.

Laura Murray: 'Miss Laura'

Assistant Teacher

My name is Laura Murray and I am an assistant teacher with Generation Edinburgh.

I have always had a desire to pursue dance from a young age. I dreamed of learning Ballet and highland and Irish Dancing , it has always been a longing of mine. When I moved to the Highlands, it was there I grew a passion for the arts as a whole. I was involved in musical performances in a theatre in Inverness playing piano and singing in Gaelic, I studied art to advanced higher and Music to higher level. I later went to study at art college in Dundee which I enjoyed. I still keep up art today, studying at Leith School of Art from time to time. Aside from that since having my first child I started creating weaving and needle felting pieces of work and drawing while my son napped in the day. It was a way of relaxing and giving me something to work towards and express my self in. Usually my needle felting work consists of memories and thoughts in often a landscape piece or abstract. I have had experience also of tuning classes in needle felting as well as art classes in a day care setting.

What I love about GE is that it's such an encouraging environment, such a calm space with a positive tone and where there is a freedom of expression, a genuine passion for growing and building up.New Paragraph
